Part 1 - General

1.01 Description

B. Description of System

1. Furnish all material, labor and equipment and perform all work to completely install the chemical resistant____________________________________in all areas designated in the drawing and finish schedules.

1.02 Submittals

A. Submit two sets of the manufacturer's Chemically Resistant Flooring Brick units and related literature. This submittal shall be made prior to the delivery of materials to the project site.

Part 2 - Products

2.01 Materials

A. Brick Flooring:

The Chemically Resistant Brick Flooring shall be manufactured by The Belden Brick Company, Canton, Ohio. The Chemically Resistant Brick Flooring shall be (specify: 1-3/8" thick or 2-1/4" thick in shale or 2-1/4" thick in fireclay) and shall conform to ASTM C-279-95, (specify: Type l or Type ll). The nominal face size of the Chemically Resistant Brick shall be (specify face size) in accordance with the manufacturer's standard production sizes in the 8 in. or 9 in. series. *Shale body slant base stretchers and shapes (internal and external corners) will be furnished as shown on the plans in accordance with current standard production of the manufacturer. All Standard Chemically Resistant Brick Flooring units shall have a vertical fibre-wirecut finish.

Wax for coating face surface of brick prior to installation shall be hot applied, fully refined petroleum paraffin wax with a melting point of 120° F. to 140° F. when tested in accordance with ASTM D87.

Part 3 - Execution

3.01 Installation

A. Install Chemically Resistant Brick in accordance with the Chemically Resistant Mortar manufacturer's written instructions.

3.02 Clean

A. All Chemically Resistant Mortar or Grout shall be removed from the face of the Chemically Resistant Flooring in accordance with the mortar or grout manufacturer's written instructions.

*Belden chemical resistant floor brick is manufactured to conform to the specification requirements of both ASTM C-279-95 and ASTM C-410-97, (industrial floor brick). Whenever close dimensional tolerances or minimal distortion is required, ASTM C-410-97, Tables ll and lll should be used for the dimensional standards of the specification.
