BELDEN BRICK WHO WE ARE.
To build a successful family-owned business takes commitment, knowledge, hard work,
sacrifice and determination. To build a business that spans over one hundred years
of growth and development requires more than a firm family commitment. It takes the
skill, knowledge, dedication and hard work of countless others who, together, create
a reputation for excellence that is reinforced every day at The Belden Brick Company.
The Belden family has proudly stamped our name on billions of brick products throughout
our hundred plus year history. We’re proud of our heritage, proud of our people,
and proud to have successfully served the building industry for so many years. We
look forward to another century of quality brickmaking, and to continuing our
“Tradition of Excellence!”
115 YEARS OF BRICKMAKING
A company with any amount of longevity comes through time shaped by market forces.
Some of the forces are positive; some are negative. But in the final analysis,
businesses have to adapt or perish. The brick industry, like any other, has seen wars,
financial panic, shortages of capital, market changes and governmental regulation. Many brick manufacturers did not survive.
But the strongest ones have.
The way Belden Brick has met these challenges and lived to tell about it says a good
deal about the qualities we are trying to describe.
The Belden Brick Company has seven plants (six tunnel plants; one periodic), all gas
equipped, with a related capacity of 225,000,000 brick equivalent annually. In the
energy development field, they have over 160 producing gas wells. Approximately 500
people are employed in the plants and offices. Belden Brick is generally acknowledged
as the industry's quality leader, especially in architectual brick.
Brick may be as old as civilization, but brick companies aren't. In modern times, many
brick companies have come and gone. So have different types of building materials.
But the challenge over the years has been (and always will be) to respond to the
times while maintaining focus on the qualities that are immutable, both in the
product and the company itself. The Belden Brick Company and its products have stood
the test of time so far. Both have a solid past and the strength for a long and
successful future.
