BELDEN BRICK OUR HISTORY
This is the story of Belden Brick.
It’s a look at a quality, stable company that makes a quality, stable product. The
origins, development and character of both will be described on these pages. By
examining the character of the brick alongside the history of the company that makes
it, we hope to gain a clearer understanding of the whole that is Belden Brick.
From its inception in 1885 as the Diebold Fire Brick Company, Belden Brick has been
synonymous with excellence in brickmaking. This spirit of excellence has continued
through the years thanks to the early pioneers who imbued Belden Brick with their
ideas and hard work.
Through the years of change, acquisition and modern technological advancements, The
Belden Brick Company continues to uphold the traditions set forth by its early leaders.
Family involvement and commitment is the backbone of the company. Today, the fourth
generation of Beldens heads the firm bearing the family name.
We will be exploring character by looking at a product and the company who makes it.
Here is an example of an organization that concentrates so fully on its work that
the qualities of the product and the business begin to blend. This convergence of
character is the mark of a truly successful American manufacturer.
