| THE
MAKING OF BRICK
Let Belden Brick help your visions become a reality
by allowing us to create special shape brick to suit your design
needs.
Close-up
of a sloped shape being cut, textured and kerfed at the die
opening. Special wires cut the slope, and the sharpened knife
is set at the required angle to create the texture required.
What the unfired shapes look like at the extrusion die, and
a few cut to size, showing kerf marks for eventual breaking
after firing.
A
special bullnose stretcher that was cut from a shape box. Now
the face of the shape is being hand-slicked to develop the smooth
finish required to match the adjacent field brick.
Hand-drilling
“Blind Holes” in the bottom of these shapes to help
minimize the chance of problems in drying and firing.
Skillful “touching up” of the hand-slicking process
to ensure a quality appearance.
