Belden Brick Sculpture Named Local Treasure
September 23, 2015 – In 2003, the Community Arts Council in Sugarcreek began crafting ideas and raising funds to make a series of panels that visually tell the history of the village of Sugarcreek, in addition to communities in the Garaway Local Schools District — Baltic, Dundee and Ragersville. The result was the Sugarcreek Brick Wall Sculpture, which initially was installed by Belden Brick Co., Cherry Ridge Masons and Stutzman Lawn & Landscaping. Carving of the wall began Jan. 9, 2012, by sculptor Sherry Crilow. It took her about three weeks to create each of the 13 panels. Read more here.
